What it is

BEC Malta is a website for an English language school based in Malta. The brief was straightforward: a clean, professional site that communicates the school's courses, location, and atmosphere to prospective international students.

It's the most traditional project in my portfolio — no AI, no complex back-end — but it shows something the other projects don't: I can work to a real client brief, deliver a functional site on time, and make design decisions that serve someone else's goals rather than my own.

Key decisions

01
Clarity over creativity
This wasn't the project for experimentation. Prospective students visiting from abroad need to find course information, contact details, and location quickly. Every design decision was measured against whether it helped or hindered that goal. The result is restrained on purpose.
02
Mobile-first layout
International students searching for language schools are often on their phones. Building mobile-first and scaling up meant the experience was solid on the device most likely to be used, rather than a desktop layout awkwardly squeezed onto a small screen.
03
Working within someone else's brand
Unlike my other projects where I set the aesthetic direction, here I had to work within an existing identity. That constraint was useful — it's closer to how most design jobs actually work, where you're serving a brand rather than expressing yourself.
